Inga Agrest, President

Inga Agrest is the Founder and the President of MACA. Ms. Agrest has a BA degree in Piano Performance & Composition from the College of Charleston, and MM degree in Opera/Theater Directing from the University of South Carolina. She's been a Director, Assistant Director and Stage Manager for shows and operas in Columbia, SC, Los Angeles and Italy. Ms. Agrest teaches private piano/voice and Musical Theatre Classes in the Charleston area. She has been the Musical Director with SPROUTS Children Theatre since it came to Charleston. Ms. Agrest sang in the Opera Charleston production of Carmen, and was MD for Threshold Rep's recent production of Fiddler on the Roof, the College of Charleston production of Assassins, as well as The Footlight Players Theatre production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Ms. Agrest has been singing with choirs her entire life ranging in locations from St. Petersburg, Russia to Charleston, SC. Locally, she has sung with Taylor Festival Choir, CofC Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers, CSOC and CSO Chamber as well as several church choirs.

Stan Gill, Vice President

Stan Gill is the Vice President of MACA and the Artistic Director and Writer of the SPROUTS Children's Theatre. Stan is proud of the international awards these shows have won over the years, and he has seen them translated into five languages. He is a university professor, as well as a professional Scenic and Graphic Designer and Carpenter. Stan is especially gratified to have won national acclaim as a lyricist and residency artist. You may have seen him in his sold-out performances at Piccolo/Spoleto over the last few festivals. Watch for him again this season in his one-man Mark Twain’s Final Tour at The Footlight.

Elyse Garfinkel

Elyse Garfinkel is a Director of Development of MACA and a native of Charleston, she received her BS in children's theater and education at Emerson College in Boston. It was during her junior year, that she helped co-create the Beau Jest Moving Theater Co. with her clowning and physical comedy professor. The Beau Jest Moving Theater is an award winning theater that just reached its 30th year. Over those years, Elyse has performed with Beau Jest in three different shows for Piccolo Spoleto. Now she is excited to be performing with Sprouts and Stan G. after a long absence from the stage...never to leave again. Elyse is also a stylist at London Hair during the day...snip.
