Opera Intensive
The Magic Flute

October 4th-June 13th Sundays 2:30-5pm
Multiple performances during Piccolo Spoleto Festival
(ages 8 through adults) $500+($25 registration fee)

This class provides a unique opportunity for students of this age group to learn and perform full roles in an Opera Production. It will culminate in performances of the entire Opera “The Magic Flute” by Mozart in German with English subtitles and English dialogue.

The performances will take place during the final weekend of Piccolo Spoleto Festival June 11th - 13th, 2027. The Opera will be performed at a downtown location with full costumes, scenery and live musicians. There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal on June 10th and several morning rehearsals in June once school is out of session.

The regular class sessions will take place at our main studio in Mt. Pleasant. Students will work on vocal technique, German and English diction, acting, character development, stage movement, etiquette and more.

There will be no classes on Oct. 25, Nov.1 & 29, Dec.6-Jan. 3 (winter break with memorization instructions). Weekly classes will resume Jan. 10, no classes on March 28 (Easter) and May 9 (Mother’s Day). There will be performances opportunities for small numbers throughout the rehearsal period prior to the full performances.
